Eyelash perming?

I've been considering eyelash perming for a while now! Have any of you tried it before? It seems kinda scary subjecting your fragile eyelashes to chemicals and all. Plus after looking about online, im more confused than ever! Some have said that perming made their lashes fragile and dry and hence causing them to fall out! Just imagining it is enough to scare me into not doing it, haha. So please share with me and let me know your experience! :D

I'm finally back, lol. This is what i got online directly after the MAC F & F sale a while ago -_-" I dont know why i only decided to get it only after the sale, it was Adeline who tempted me to get the brush after seeing hers in her haul actually. Bad influence! Haha

I didnt snap any close ups of moon river cuz i decided to pass it on to Pam in the end, not crazy about peach/ mineralize blushes!

Close up of the 134.

In comparison to the Sonia Kashuk powder brush.

As you girls can see, there isn't much difference in size between the 2. Mac looks a little smaller here before washing butafter washing though it becomes the exact same size as the other brush.

In terms of shape both are dome shaped. MAC however is flatter and less fluffy than the other one cuz its built for application of all kinds of powder.

Also, in terms of softness, i must say that they both are just as soft and in fact, sonia kashuk's brush might be a little softer and irritate the skin less. This would be because the 134 is more multi purpose than the other one though, its dense and allows application of other powders other than loose powder (i tried it with bronzer and it worked really well! I overloaded in fact, haha). The Sonia Kashuk brush however has rather loosely packed bristles so i cant imagine having a good application of anything else like blush.

So, i would say that for those of you looking to get a brush only for setting your foundation, just get the Sonia Kashuk one at usd19.99. For those of you looking to get a multi purpose one though, you might wanna consider the MAC one. It retails at usd50 though, really expensive imo, i havnt decided if its totally worth the money yet, will update you all again! :D

Val's got a slightly swollen face with little rashes all over now |:

So beware! Always test a product on a small area first before applying it on a large surface area. The culprit for my condition right now's hawaiian tropic oil free faces spf 30. I was going to rave about how quickly it dries to a matt finish, and though it does cause the foundation to drag a bit (all sunblocks ive tried do that) and it does cause a little tingling sensation after application, it really is the most convenient sunblock ive tried thus far. To think that just hours after checking with my dermatologist if i had to worry about the tingling sensation and he replied no as long as i do not develop rashes, i really break into rashes, and all over at that ):

Okay, im whining now, haha sorry! Just wanted to drop you girls a warning about this product. Well products in general cuz we might react to a chemical that they contain and all.

AANNDDD GVP! It stand for generic value products as the bottle shows. On the left we have the silk treatment for smooth silky ahirand on the right we have the leave in treatment to prevent breakage.

The one i wanna rave about is the leave in treatment for fragile hair(to be used on wet hair only). I've been using the conditioner for about 2 months now, remember previously i mentioned that i thought i had frizzy hair but it turned out to be breakages. The breakage of the hair occurs when there is a tangle esp while the hair is still wet and we comb through and tugging the comb against the knot. When that happens, the hair breaks and springs upwards, making it look like frizz!

For about 2 months now ive been applying the leave in treatment everytime i wash my hair, leaving it alone for a about a minute before combing through. It actually works! No tangles or any difficulty in combing through my hair AT ALL. While i cant say that the breakage has totally gone away (nothing can repair it, gotta let the hair grow out), i can see fewer 'frizz' esp around the top of my head where the new hair has grown out. So BUY IT BUY IT! Its freakin amazing! You can get the GVPs from sallysbeauty online, i joined a spree so im not too sure which other places sell them.

Also for those of you who are interested in the silk treatment, i would say that it works, just now very well for me. On the first day i tried it after my hair dried, it made my hair so so so soft and i was really impressed! Subsequently though, it only made my hair soft at times, though not as much as it was when i first used it. Plus i have noticed that it only works best when applied on dry hair and doesnt seem to work when applied on damp hair at all |: It may vary from person to person, i just think that it wouldnt help much for girls with rather damaged hair. Nope, i wouldn't recommend the silk treatment.

What kim's mom did was use the offset on a pair of shoes that had the direct offset instead so that no credits had to be used to purchase another item!

Shu uemura's face architect smoothing fluid foundation goes for $70 for a 27ml bottle (why dont they just round it up to 30ml?! 27's such a random number) and Laneige's water bank hydro gel $54 for a 50ml bottle. How much is it after the sale, you do the math yourself :P

The left bottle is my current one in shade 554 while the right is the new one in 764. In the store, the SA told me that they were of similar shade just that 554 is more of a neutral undertone (pink + yellow) while 764 is more yellow. Looking at it now though its obvious that 764 is lighter eh? That means that i've gotten fairer! Woohoo! Except that the rest of my body remains tan -_-"

A quick review!

Pros:
- Quite reasonably priced considering how little product is used each time around.
- Gel form hence it is suitable for us girls with oily/ combination skin who live in Singapore and just need a little hydration.
- Leaves the skin feeling smooth and soft the next morning!

Cons:
- Jar form hence a cotton bud has to be used to scoop the product out. Imagine the amount of bacteria that would be introduced if we shoved our finger in!
- 'Fragrance' quite overpowering imo. Its not a bad smell but the smell is really obvious and takes a couple of minutes to fade away. Products with little or no fragrance tend to have a much lower possibility of irritating the skin. That said though, it hasnt irritated me :D

I have been wanting to try this moisturiser for quite a while now and im quite glad i got it. For girls looking for more hydration you might want to look at creams instead cuz kim did mention that its not enough for her during the winter months in australia. For those who want to start treating your skin better and start moisturising it though, you might want to try this!

I know i havnt been updating for so long girls! I feel really bad about it, but gosh, work drains all of my energy and each time i knock off, im already so tired, too tired to be updating. Plus i have bought some things, but not that many cuz of the ban! |: I bought i brush cleanser yesterday but i dont think that really counts cuz i needed it plus its not exactly makeup i think?

Anyway, i wanted to rant about something:

Yesterday while a couple of friends and i were having lunch, tocks gave us our presents from korea and among them were a couple of bottles of nail polish. So what happened was that we were painting them and showing the colours to each other and trying to decide what to choose right, and this guy on the table next to ours was mimicking us and pretending to be looking at his nails like we were.

So anyway, the 3 girls he was with laughed really loudly and i flipped. Kinda, i just got really pissed and reacted, plus carolyn as well, lol.

I was so so so annoyed, i mean what was that for?! We were minding our own business and that big ass totally had to try to be funny. He probably was trying to impress them or something, but like umm its not like they were a good catch or anything. YUP, i know im being really bitchy and everything right now, but it really bothered me to a rather large extent at that point of time.

People like those few derive pleasure from taunting others are total losers. It reminds me of this video that an lj user posted on mac_cosmetics about this guy on youtube who insulted all the girls who make and watch makeup videos on youtube! More importantly, it doesnt mean that an individual who likes makeup or pays a little more attention to her appearance isn't an intelligent person who has other interests. To those of you who are oh so critical of everything and anything, get a life! RAWR it still kinda annoys me now but okay, i shall try not to think about it any longer.

And also, i promise to update soon, ive got a couple of stuff im quite excited to show you girls, esp MAC. Haha, till then you all! :D

Plus i dont believe in using clean up nail polish pens, even if its from sally hansen. This one is quite difficult to use, you gotta press the pen down quite hard to dispense the remover from the inside before rubbing it off with the tip. That said though, the remover does work.

One of my favourite things she bought me, lots and lots of moisturiser :D WOOHOO, it'll prob last me the entire year at least, plus i havn't even used them yet.

My favourite part, Sonia Kashuk powder brush at usd19.99, not cheap actually. You know how difficult it is to order this online cuz its only available at target, plus beauty products are shipped separately from clothes etc so i just got my mom to get it for me instead. Bare escentuals e/s (which came free with the stuff she bought btw) and their mascara (which i thought was free as well and got all excited, but i was mistaken hahaha).

This brush is good for a light dusting of powder etc cuz the bristles are not densely packed, great for MAC's blot powder cuz i find that its been giving me a too matt and powdery look with the edm buffer brush. Its soft, but not THAT soft unfortunately. Wth am i talking about right?! Umm what i mean is that when sweeping the brush across my face, it feels really soft and good. However its not good for buffing on the product like when i want to buff in the blot powder so as to keep the oilies away for a couple more hours. It poked a little and kinda irritates the skin.

That said though, if your skin is not too sensitive and can put up with a little buffing with this brush, it buffs in the product quite well. It actually kept my nose oil free for almost half the day, which is pretty amazing. If you've been wondering if you should purchase this product for quite a while now like i was before, i'll say just get this. No need to splurge on a MAC brush.

These 3 are my favourite scents from Victoria's secret! I dont like scents that are too sweet and hence artificial smelling. When i used sweet daydream body butter when i still had it, my mom actually asked me what perfume i was using! (: It's a pity these cannot be shipped to us because its a spray and contains alcohol.

And last, the bareminerals e/s, the colours look so pretty don't they. But no, dont ever get these cuz THEY SUCK. The colour payoff is terrible and its rather powdery. It didnt even show up with a base, tsk terrible.

LOVE mint green. Sooo it came up to ~$28, quite reasonable i think :D Plus it totally reminds me of the korean shoes that are seen so often in the shoe sprees that can be found online now.

Oh yeah, i wore these today though and they hurt! ): The back was too high up and hence uncomfortable initially before becoming painful. WHY do these shoe designers always do that?!

I wanted to do something fun and raised my legs up high and snapping a picture, but omggg it just made my back ache after, i think im getting a little older and def wayyy more unhealthy, lol.

Substance as well! 2nd pair at 50% off and i shared the discount with Carolyn so it came down to ~$38.

OKAY and i admit these look kinda disgusting in this picture but i swear it looks nicer and my legs are not that fat irl!

Got these at bugis at $15! Wahaha, i actually saw a really cute pair of shoes at Zara kids that went for $59.90 but they ran outta my size |: I'll settle for this similar looking pair then, its friendlier on the wallet anyway :D

Do you suffer from the ugly 'varicose' look alike veins on your feet (or is it really that)? I have those and it does bother me at times. Caused by too much walking i think?!

Only 2 items from the GSS so far! It so happened that the day my bf and i decided to head to bugis, they were having the 30% off storewide (no wonder there were all the 'aunties' grabbing big plastic bags avail and asking their friends "you want?!"), lol.

So anyway, stage was having the 30% off as well and since i quite liked their picture perfect liquid camouflage, i decided to try these 2 as well. Left is studio perfect creme camouflage and right opening act complexion enhancer (which im sure you can already see, heh).

My match for the liquid concealor was 03 but 05 for the creme one, weird huh? Oh and btw, the primer's water based (though i saw that there was silica as part of the ingredients list). I've only tried the primer once and i didnt like it much, but ill try again when im feeling less shitty about my skin! Gonna ask the derm if he can get rid of it for me on tmr ):

And of course, the best part is the price hahahaha. The original price for the concealors and primer were $20 and $30 respectively, very affordable even without the discount.

How the primer looks like! It's more of a liquid consistency while most primers are more gel like?

I couldn't decide if i should post this picture! It shows the primer rubbed in and since it rubs in transparent, you're just looking at my wrist! Gosh, i feel kinda silly now. But anyway the primer rubs in really easily and invisible but i did realise that the surface feels a little tacky initially so a little time is necessary for the primer to set.

And a minute review for the liquid concealor!

Pros:
- Relatively easy to find colour match for me, so im thinking for us asian girls as well.
(the sales assistant was a real bitch btw, he acted really stuck up. tsk what is it with them all!)
- Creamy so it doesnt dry out the eye area or emphasise upon the disgusting puny bumps most of us have ard the under eye area.
- Rather pigmented so a little goes a long way.
- Cheap!

Cons
- Settle into lines as it is liquid so set it quick with powder.
- Too 'blendable' so it does thin very easily, requiring me to use more to cover the dark edges more effectively.

Quick tip!
- Dot the concealor on with your third finger pad then pat it in with your fourth finger.
Dotting it with a separate finger ensures that it doesnt get messy as too much concealor got out previously, plus patting it in with your fourth
finger ensures that you're gentle with your eye area.

Thoughts:
- This concealor would work wonderfully for girls with lighter dark eye circles like me, but would not provide enough coverage for those with
darker ones (try the creme one instead). But yup, i would def recommend it. I think it's even better than the ones they have at bobbi brown-
  those are too dry.

Top: before concealing and applying foundation.
Bottom: after application.

Sorry i couldn't get better pictures!

It's like ebay, but a million times better! Hahaha ive been telling just about every of my friends who will listen about the wonders of this place. So anyway their clothes (most of them) are really really cheap with basics going for usd5 excluding shipping, almost the same as f21's fabulous finds but with way better quality! For those of who who havnt checked out this website yet, GO GO GO!

Oh right, the only catch is, though the basic categories are written in english the scroll down bar upon ordering is in Korean so you gotta figure the words out and it does take a while, esp for those in pictures written in hand, not typed. It took me days to finally figure out the language and i never had a prob from then (: just like riding a bike!

I saw the exact same dress retailing at far east for $60+ and i got really annoyed at how much the stall owners jacked up the price by, lol i know i know, thats how they earn money right, but still! I ended up exclaiming at quite a couple of pieces of clothing that day..

Okay, i basically was really happy with evreything but this piece. It turned out to be the same as in the photos, most of them did but this one was effing huge! Seriously, i look like im drowning in this shirt |: It prob fits about a uk10? I gotta post it on sgflea, drat.

Love the pleats! :D This pair feels so comfortable on, so light, almost like im not wearing anything. Hehe, just kidding.

The skirt doesnt look very appealing here, but it looks nice on, honest! It has cute pockets as well!

Ahhhh so should i post stuff like this here? Seems like it might bore you girls |: Plus coming up! What i got from the BHG 30% off storewide sale (its makeup, lol)!

p.s. my boyfriend's recently taken to dropping by this lj and looking at what i bought :O i hope he forgets about it soon!
I would prefer a nail polish rack but i dont know of any place that sells them or if they do i bet it'll be way too expensive and shipping over from 8ty8 would kill |: Anyway for $2 per tray, i'd just settle for this (:

They have a longer one as well, instead of being rectangular for the little cutouts, its square.

Side view!
It fits most nail polishes EXACTLY. They literally hit the top of the tray where the other tray stacks on top. As you can see though, the skin food ones are too tall |:

I do think i already have more polishes than i can use, but arranging them neatly into the tray like that makes it look kinda sad doesnt it? Each time i got too stressed out, i would go online and look around and end up buying some stuff |: Not good.

oh and also, the pictures are not the best, my mom borrowed my camera for her holiday! I hope she gets lots of stuff for me from the US! Wahahaha.

My new wallet! Hehe i was shopping at urban outfitters a couple of times and decided to get this. Aint it prettyyy? :D

It has so many compartments! I was just wishing that day that i would receive something in the mail and i got this. Thankew thankew!! Oh and btw, whats the eyeko tinted cream for eh?

I also got a couple of items from drugstore, you can always find something from that store :P I heard that the Jane blushes were gonna be discontinued so i got 2 to try!

The pictures arn't the best but the colour's quite accurate here i think!

Plus I got maybelline's soft and full and covergirl's lash blast mascaras! I've been wanting to try this for the longest time, review coming up!

Stage was having a 30% off storewide and hearing that the concealor was good for undereye plus it was only $20 then $14 after the discount, why not right! CHEAP! haha plus urban decay's 247 liner in honey, i was a little hesistant to get this cuz i much prefer liquid eyeliners, i think theyre easier to control plus i like the precise line they give. But i tried this yesterday and goshhh it sets so quick and doesnt budge after! I think i'll get another one in zero now for waterlining. MAC's eye kohl sucks like crap, i hate it! And its really creamy so theres no tugging on the lids as well! My only complaint will be that its creamy so the eyeliner gets onto my lower lashline when im drawing it on.

I had two pictures but i think they got deleted accidentally so ill take them again once i get my camera back!

Close up of the nail polishes!
Hey girls, thought i'd give a quick review on a couple of exfoliators that ive used a couple of times!

First up, something that i didnt like that much, the Dermopurifyer mild daily scrub by Eucerin. I actually got a sample of this off fb3r when they first launched this product.

Attributes:

Gentle, pore-refining microparticles

1% Lactic Acid beads

Soap-free

Oil-free

Benefits:

Noticeably clearer, smoother and more visibly refined skin.

I felt that the micro beads were relatively harsh on my skin though it claimed to be gentle. Also i had to scrub relatively hard to get my skin to be as smooth as i wanted it to be (yeahh i know im not supposed to do that!). It did soap up as well though its apparently soap free, but i liked that cuz it served as a facial cleanser as well then. To give this product credit though, i did feel that it left my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed and feeling fresh. I'm not sure how much it retails for though! Overall, i would not recommend this to girls who have sensitive skin like me.

My second favourite exfoliator, the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser by Mario badescu.

For dull, congested skin, this lathering, deep cleanser has the exfoliating powers of Glycolic Acid to break down build-up from skins surface, reduce minor discoloration and leave skin radiant and smooth. Formulated with Herbal Extracts for soothing benefits. Best when used 2-3 times weekly or as recommended by your skin specialist based on your skins needs.

How to Use: Gently massage on face in circular motions avoiding eye area. Rinse with tepid water and pat dry. Follow with toner or astringent. For oily or problematic skin use 2-3 times weekly. For dry or sensitive skin use 1-2 times weekly. Adjust accordingly for your skin type.

I like this because theres no need for the little beads at all! The glycolic acid rids of the dead skin build up sooo easily and leaves the skin feeling smooth and very clean. What i do is wet my hands with the smallest amount of water and apply this before i brush my teeth and leaving it on for the duration where im brushing my teeth and when im done, i simply massage my face a couple of times then wash it off. No irritation at all, its not harsh either so i did use it about 3 times a week since i have oilier skin. I would definitely recommend this to those of you who are looking for a product without the microbeads! Ooh and btw, it smells really good as well, like an essential oil with rose and something (err i forgot what its called exactly) but i loved using this as well cuz it smelt so amazingg.

My favourite of the bunch, Laneige strawberry yoghurt peeling gel! :D I've read reviews about this online and Diana passed me a sample after grabbing a whole bunch of them from the Laneige sale.

                         - Gently massage your face with hands, and dead cells will be removed naturally with cellulose. Experience a clearer and smoother skin the next morning!
- This peeling gel contains strawberry extracts that help keep your skin healthy and moisturized.
- The exfoliating enzyme contained in the red capsule helps to gently remove dead cells deeply buried in the skin, facilitating turnover of the skin and making it vital and healthy.

                                                1. Apply a nickel-sized amount (2cm in diameter) on clean dry face, and spread it evenly on the entire face avoiding eyes and mouth area.
2. Massage for 1 minute. Once cellulose brings dead skin cells out of the skin, wash off with lukewarm water.
3. Use once or twice a week. Adjust frequency depending on skin conditions.
4. If you have sensitive skin, massage very gently.

First up, this smells amazing, very sweet like strawberry yoghurt candy. I will admit though that at times i find the smell overwhelming! Anyway, this one has no microbeads at all and all you gotta do is massage into your skin, just like the Ginvera green tea marvel gel. This one is way better though, after washing it off, my skin is smooth, soft and very clean, slightly better than the MB one cuz of the extra softness it gives. The first time i tried this, i was so blown away by how soft my skin was after! Plus, it did temporarily rid of the tiny white bumps under my nose (i have a couple of them) and we all know how stubborn those are. HMMM i dont know exactly how much this one retails for locally either but i would def say its worth the buy since not much is needed per application anyway. I'll check it out in a month's time once my exams are officially over, CANT WAIT ALREADY!

What do you use anyway? Do share so that the rest of us can go check them out! :D

Thanks babe :D

Peony on the left and poppy on the right!

The colour is quite accurate here, and yeah poppy looks kinda scary here but its really pretty when sheered out!

Left in natural light and right with flash.

EDIT: forgot to include what i thougth abt them. These are quite thick in texture so it is relatively difficult to blend, it would seem impossible to get a good application without a stippling brush imo. Once sheered out though, they do look pretty on and gives a natural flush. The convertibles are all right at 8bucks a pop, honestly though i would never have paid anything more for them!

Also, i wanted to include a swatch of refined since i didnt get around to doing that previously and thought that i might as well do a swatch of all my highlighters for you girls (:

From left to right:
Etude house mineral highlighter, msf natural, refined, petticoat, so ceylon.
The three on the left do look quite similar, etude house however gives more of a silver/ whitish glow, msf natural has a mix of subtle silver/ whitish shimmer while refined gives a peachy glow.

i'm using the msf natural highlight side here!

Sorry girls, its gonna be quick and brief from now on, im quite stressed out with my exams right now!
